nyc in the summer

Most people don’t want to be here in the summer and yes the streets famously smell like hot trash, but summer here is full of treats. NYC is a beach town and a park town. You can get coveted reservations and tickets to shows. Drink beers on the roof. Swim at the pool. The museums are quieter. Street parking is easier. There’s less traffic as long as you’re not driving Friday afternoon or Sunday evening. The students are mostly gone (sorry I said it!!). It’s usually breezy even when it’s stiflingly hot. If you’re stuck here, there’s a lot to enjoy.
