Wildbird, Lenny lamb, Hope & plum, Artipoppe, Sakura bloom, Tula, Mabe, etc all make beautiful carriers in woven fabrics that distribute weight in a comfy way. Pick a carrier that works for back carry and push yourself to learn to do it once your baby is sitting up. Back carry makes so much ergonomic sense. Nosy babies love the view over your shoulder and it’s a much healthier hip position than facing forward in the front. Cotton/linen blends are ideal for city spring & summer.
If you live off a subway stop with an elevator bless you, but I was not carrying a stroller up and down the stairs. If I could go back I would take my marketplace vista money and buy a second carrier with 0 reservations.
